Trouble en noir

This is my part of a project made as a duo. This constitutes the second half of a story we had to create around the themes of urban legends. The first half was made by Loïs Ricard.

The story tells the tale of a strange phenomena where seemingly random people disapear after being pursued by a group of strange men dressed in suits. Those pursuers never seem to care about being sneaky, most of the time appearing in broad daylight and in big cities. They always seems obsessed with their victims to the point that they dismiss everything else. They can appear at random part of the world and at different time periods. Despite bringing a lot of attention to them, none of these pursuers has ever been caught, always closing in on their victim before disapearing with them. The victims do not have anything in common except for the fact they are deeply isolated, to the point that no one including their family know their whereabout.

The board itself tells the story of Abel, a middle-aged man living alone in his appartment in Buckarest, Romania at the start of the 20th century. He suffers from social anxiety and is under treatment requested by his local pharmacy. However, some times after taking his treatment, he notices that a strange man in a suit is supposedly spying him outside of his appartment. That man becomes more and more persistent, so much that Abel is scared to go outside. After needing a refill for his treatment, he tries to go out, passing through the man in a suit, but the latter start to run after him. Abel tries to escape him through the small streets of Buckarest...
